The Artist – Meet the Family (1.5)

Hi everyone,

I wrote another scene this week which takes place after my first novel. I am calling it The Artist – Meet the Family (Book 1.5 of the Stirling Town Collection). I think I will give to my followers as a thank you for reading The Artist and for signing up to my newsletter. I am currently setting that up too! How exciting!

As I was keeping The Artist a short as possible, it was hard to expand the story to include the main characters families. However, when one of my ARC readers was reading The Artist they said they desperately wanted this scene. So, I wrote it and I really like it! More importantly, so did my ARC reader! It is hard to share it with you or tell you too much about it as it follows on directly after The Artist. I don’t want to give away too much about the story if you haven’t read my first one yet!

My mum is one of the advanced readers – and she enjoyed this scene too! I have to run some things like this past her for quality control! After all she is my first set of eyes. She reads everything I write and has been doing so since I was a kid. I really appreciate her help and feedback.

I also have another amazing friend who has been helping me get my head around the Indi-Author field. She has been giving me amazing help, guidance and feedback. If you enjoy wild, brilliant, dysfunctional characters and/or rock stars, then you will love Sian Ceinwen’s Cruise Control Novels. I have read all of her books, and man… I have laughed, cried and felt my heart melt along with these amazing female main characters. Plus her Rock Star characters are HOT! Sebastian Fox is the best male character in the first three Cruise Control Novels. However, I think when the final book in that series comes out I will be in love with Hayden Vega even more (Sorry Sebastian)!

I am currently editing book two in the Stirling Town Collection, its going to be called The Author. It currently stands at 156,079 words, and I am working to reduce that number. I know they often say that bigger is better but I don’t always agree with that (and yes you can interpret that any way you want!).

When it comes to writing I have taken the Stephen King method of writing to heart – write everything and then edit the hell out of it. This will be my first full length novel and I love it so much. I just know it can be even better.

I have three beta-readers that are helping me right now to reduce the word count and make the story more concise for your reading in the future!

I can’t believe this is all starting to become a reality. I am so excited to share my stories with you in the future!

Keep out of mischief my darlings,

Love,
