Welcome to Misty’s Raunchy Reads

I have been an avid reader most of my life. I struggled early on with reading and writing but when I finally got my head around how it all worked I basically started consuming every book I could get my hands on.

I started writing fan fiction for my favourite TV shows when I was 10. I would imagine all the ways the characters could do different things. But they were never my characters.

I wrote my first full length novel at 14 (but honestly – it wasn’t brilliant).

I have now been writing bits and pieces for 20 years! But I struggled to complete the stories that were in my head. I would enjoy the scenes playing out in my minds eye and plot out whole collections of stories, but when it came to getting words on the page I struggled.

That is, until Covid 19 hit the world and we were forced to stay inside.

I was working in an office when shutdown happened. I was put on furlough for 5 nerve-wracking months. I decided to make the most of my time by doing my best to finish at least one story.

I started with a Novella called The Artist. Which I completed and am about to debut to the world.

Special thanks to Gcreate for the amazing Cover Art!

It took me 24 hours to write the first draft of The Artist and about 12 weeks to edit (crazy right?!). I want to make sure my little debut Novella is perfect. Not that anything is perfect in this world, but I want to make it stand up on its own.

When I wrote the Novella I sent it off to a few of my closest friends and family for their input. It took a lot of effort to share this little Novella with them for fear of rejection, judgement or criticism. But I should have known better – after all, these are my friends and family who love me and have already supported me with all my wild and crazy endeavours. I was not afraid of constructive feedback and they all helped to make it even better!

So many of my close ones loved The Artist! Even people who don’t usually read romance! It gave me hope that my dream of writing a full length novel would someday become a reality. And yes, even my Mum read it – even though it has lots of sex scenes! She loves it!

The Artist is also my first ever attempt at writing a short story. I was aiming for about 10,000 words. I couldn’t cut it below 22,000 words. I love that my characters, Irene and Dillon, have a depth and relatability that is hard to do in less words!

I am currently working on The Author which is Book Two in The Stirling Town Collection. It is also the first of the full length novels. I wanted to make each book in this collection stand alone, so it doesn’t matter if you pick up a Novella or if you pick up a full length Novel everything should be complete in and of itself.

I am intending to grow the world of the Stirling Town Collection with a combination of both Novellas and Full length Novels.

I cant wait to share the The Artist with you.

Release date is coming soon!

In the meantime, enjoy my page and I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and read my books in the future!

Lots of Love,
